The 3 Biggest Lies About Kundalini Awakening (And What’s Actually True)

Watch the video here.

There's a lot of misinformation in the Kundalini space, and because of that, many people experience fear, confusion, and a sense of unsafety when their Kundalini begins to awaken. But Kundalini awakening is not something to fear. It is a natural and deeply intelligent process. What often creates fear is not the energy itself, but the misunderstanding of what is actually happening.

Lie 1: Kundalini Is Dangerous

Kundalini energy itself is not dangerous. It is life force, and it exists in everyone. What happens during an awakening is that this energy begins to bring everything to the surface that has been held in the body. Unprocessed emotions, trauma, fear, and stuck energy begin to move, and this can feel overwhelming if there is not enough capacity to hold it. What people often describe as dangerous is actually the intensity of this clearing process. The energy is not the problem. The lack of understanding, support, and nervous system capacity is what creates the experience of fear.

Lie 2: Kundalini Is All Bliss

Another common belief is that Kundalini awakening is purely blissful. And while there can be moments of deep connection, joy, and ecstasy, that is not the full picture. The purpose of Kundalini awakening is not to escape the human experience, but to integrate the divine into the body and into daily life. In order for that to happen, everything that is not aligned with that truth must come up to be seen and released. This can include pain, fear, and emotional intensity, but it is precisely this process that leads to real freedom and alignment.

Lie 3: Kundalini Only Rises

There is also a widespread idea that Kundalini only moves upward through the chakras. While there is often an initial rising movement during the awakening process, this is only one phase. Once the channels of the body are open, Kundalini begins to move in all directions. It goes wherever there is something to be cleared. This energy has its own intelligence, and when you begin to trust that intelligence and develop a relationship with it, your experience of Kundalini shifts completely.

Working With Kundalini

Kundalini is not something to control, but something to relate to. The more you learn to trust this energy and allow it to move through your system, the more it becomes an ally rather than something that feels overwhelming. This is the path of Kundalini embodiment, where the awakening is not something separate from life, but something that becomes integrated into how you live, feel, and move through the world.
